Under Pressure? Maybe We Can Help...
It's not an easy time of year for students and teachers, lots of assignments due and exams coming up.
If you are feeling the pressure, maybe we have a book to help.... Talk to Mrs Deere or Mrs Ormond for more titles.

Tiny Libraries
Libraries don't have to be large or permanent...
"The Fridge" is a library set up in Christchurch after the earthquake. Readers were left without access to their usual libraries so a group of locals decided to do something about the problem. Books were donated and put into a fridge with a glass door. The fridge has been left on a suburban street and the public are to borrow them.

Above is an example from New York, USA, using an old British telephone booth. This was opened at the beginning of September and is very popular!

International Peace Day 21 September Poem
Strangest Dream
Last night I had the strangest dream,
I'd never dreamed before;
I dreamed the world had all agreed
To put an end to war.
I dreamed I saw a mighty room,
The room was full of men,
And the paper they were signing said,
They'd never fight again.
And when the paper was all signed
And a million copies made,
They all joined hands and bowed their heads
And grateful prayers were prayed.
And the people in the streets below
Were dancing round and round,
And swords and guns and uniforms
Were scattered on the ground.
Last night I dreamed the strangest dream,
I'd never dreamed before;
I dreamed the world had all agreed
To put an end to war.

A Poem by Spike Milligan
Said the mother Tern to her baby Tern
"Would you like a brother?"
Said the baby Tern to the mother Tern
"Yes. One good Tern deserves another."
